Steffen Rörtgen
Hello there! I like open web technologies, metadata, classic philosophy and dogs. I studied Latin and philosophy in Göttingen and hold an M.Ed. During my studies I started working for theGWDG, where I moved into software development through the open education projects JOINTLY and WirLernenOnlineand later served as product owner in the BIRD prototype of Germany's national education platform.
At the hbz I maintained SkoHub, a set of services for publishing and using controlled vocabularies. Since 2024 I lead themachine-readable curricula project at FWU as a specialist for metadata and ontologies, and since 2022 I work freelance for the Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre on a Nostr-based infrastructure for higher-education teaching.
I co-lead the curricula group of DINI-AG-KIM and sit on the OER advisory board of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Most of my work circles around one question: how do we make educational resources and curricula findable and editable with open web technologies, preferably RDF and open protocols? See Work for what I can do for you.
